Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS)

PDE’s statewide longitudinal data system is improve data capabilities by enhancing school districts’ capacities to meet student-level data reporting requirements and provide robust decision support tools.

PA Inspired Leaders

The Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership (PIL) Program is a statewide, standards-based continuing professional education program for school and system leaders.  The comprehensive, cohort-based program is focused on developing the capacity of leaders to improve student achievement.

PAsecureID

PAsecureID is a unique, permanent, anonymous state-wide student ID assigned to all students upon their first entry into the Commonwealth public school system.  A single, unique PAsecureID remains with an individual student throughout their educational career.

PA IU TIM

An IU Technology Integration Mentor (IU TIM) acts as a support and resource for the Classrooms for the Future (CFF) coach. The IU TIM develops a professional learning community for all CFF coaches within their respective IU. In this non-supervisory role, the IU TIM supports coaches as they support teachers to deliver data-driven, technology enhanced lessons in their schools. Focusing on coaches' strengths, the IU TIM collaborates with the CFF coaches in their efforts to help teachers transform classrooms into 21st Century, authentic, differentiated, learner-centered environments.

PA Pre K Counts

Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts, established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, is bringing quality half-day and full-day pre-kindergarten to 11,800 3 and 4 year olds in Pennsylvania. PA Pre-K Counts is designed for children who are between age 3 and until the entry age for kindergarten and are at risk of school failure, either because of income (300% of the federal 2009 poverty level, or a family of four earning $66,150), language (English is not your first language), cultural or special needs issues.

PA Transfer and Articulation Center (PA TRAC)

Earning credits at more than one institution is common for today's college students.  Many begin at a community college and transfer to a four-year college or university. In Pennsylvania, students can learn how to maximize their credit transfer and reduce credit loss by accessing the Pennsylvania Transfer and Articulation Center (PA TRAC). PA Value-Added Assessment System

PVAAS is a statistical analysis of PSSA assessment data, and provides districts and their schools with progress data to add to achievement data. This new lens of measuring student learning provides educators with valuable information to ensure they are meeting the academic needs of cohorts of students, as well as individual students.

Pennsylvania Accountability System  (PAS)

The Pennsylvania Accountability System applies to all public schools and districts.  It is based upon the State’s content and achievement standards, valid and reliable measures of academic achievement, and other key indicators of school and district performance such as attendance and graduation rates.

Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA)

The annual Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) is a standards-based, criterion-referenced assessment used to measure a student's attainment of the academic standards while also determining the degree to which school programs enable students to attain proficiency of the standards.  Every Pennsylvania student in grades 3 through 8 and grade 11 is assessed in reading and math.  Every Pennsylvania student in grades 5, 8 and 11 is assessed in writing.  Every Pennsylvania student in grades 4, 8 and 11 is assessed in science.

Prior Learning Assessment - Policy and Practice in PA

With an increased emphasis on a “highly-skilled workforce”, students of all ages are exploring ways to expand their skills and get the education and training they need to stay in their current jobs, find employment or compete for higher-paying positions.  Yet, for many, beginning a program or completing a college degree is difficult due to financial constraints, limited time, family and professional obligations and so much more.  For these students, prior learning assessment may be the solution.

Property Tax Relief

The Taxpayer Relief Act law eases the financial burden of home ownership by providing school districts the means to lower property taxes to homeowners, especially senior citizens, via the funding provided by gaming revenue. Property Tax Relief Data may be found here.

Pupil Transportation

The Division of Subsidy Data and Administration collects transportation-related data from those Pennsylvania school districts, intermediate units, and career and technology centers that provide pupil transportation.  Included on the Pupil Transportation web pages are instructions for submitting the data via the web-based eTran application, as well as general information regarding the provision of pupil transportation and the calculation of the subsidies.

Regional Schools of Excellence

The Regional Summer Schools of Excellence (RSSE) are summer enrichment programs serving students in K-12 who possess outstanding skills, display unusual abilities, and/or are identified as talented or gifted.
